After completing his formal Senior normal education, he spent two
years at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts. He concentrated on
sketching, watercolors and land-scape painting in the earlier years
and together with his contemporaries, prometed the watercolors
movement in Malaysia. He is now an Adviser to the Contemporary
Malaysia Watercolourists Association.

From NAFA, he went on to Ecole Nationale Superieure Des Beaux
Arts de Paris to study oil and figurative paintings. With the newfound
creative energy, he embarked on an exprimental journey on forms,
compositions and colors to arrive at the style that is now so uniquely
his.

He has exhibited extensively in Malaysia, Asia and Europe and his
works have been auctioned at Christie's and Sotheby's and included
in the World Chinese Top Artsits and also Century of Masters publications.
Currently many of his works especially his series on Bali, Sarawak Long
Houses and on essence of Malaysian lives are carried out on large
canvas of not less than 5' by 8' as these allowed him greater creative
freedom.
